What Engaged Participation Looks Like at Britanica Park School
For the twelfth year in a row, Bulgaria marks – a national campaign organized by the Parents Association, which in 2025 runs from November 3rd to 9th under the motto "It's Modern to Be a Father." The initiative brings together families, schools, and communities to promote active, caring, and engaged fatherhood.
The Parents Association positions "Father's Week" not as a single event, but as part of a broader national campaign in support of parenting. The official launch events and public activities aim to give visibility and social support to a new, more active understanding of fatherhood.
What This Initiative Looks Like at Our School

For another year, Britanica Park School is marking Father's Week as part of our school tradition and in support of the national campaign. Throughout the week, fathers from our community visit the school and take part in:
sports activities and demonstrations
music sessions
career presentations
This variety of formats allows fathers to interact with the children in different contexts – not simply as "guests," but as active participants and role models.

Why Fathers' Presence at School Matters
Paternal involvement is linked to positive educational, emotional, and health outcomes for children – from stronger academic performance and higher self-esteem to improved social adjustment. Long-term reviews confirm that.
– when policies, schools, and communities support their presence, the effect multiplies, benefiting both children and parenting practices as a whole.
Father's Week is an opportunity for a strategic, cultural shift in how we view fathers – as active partners in education and upbringing. When schools build lasting formats for this kind of participation, the benefits extend far beyond the classroom – they transform family dynamics and shape the opportunities open to the next generation.
